Nurse Educator- Medical Oncology 40 hours

Inpatient- Tanger 4West
The Nurse Educator supports and collaborates with the Nursing Director of Tanger 4W and the Vernon Cancer Center. The Nurse Educator participates in the overall planning, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive medical / oncology / hematology patient care program for competency and evidence-based staff education, including department orientation, mandatory education programs, continuing education, and quality/performance improvement activities. The Nurse Educator collaborates w/ the central education department and works with the nursing and support staff to determine educational and resource related needs to advance nursing practice and support patient care and education.
MSN, Clinical Nurse Specialist. (Will consider BSN with oncology experience who are in an MSN program; CNS Track and will become ANCC certified); along with an expectation of graduating within one year of employment.
5- 10 years of current in-patient medical oncology nursing experience in the acute care setting required.
Demonstrated experience with chemotherapy administration.
Recent experience in an outpatient chemotherapy administration.
Telemetry experience highly preferred.
Demonstrated competency in principles of education and supporting and sustaining improvement in nursing knowledge and practice.
CPR training required. Completion of CPR Instructor Training required.
ONS Certification required or willing to complete within the first year.
