Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center (P/SL) provides state-of-the-art, complex medical care in the heart of Denver's Uptown neighborhood.

Our hospital and emergency room treat patients from all over the Rocky Mountain region. We offer a range of services, including pediatric, high risk pregnancy, heart care and weight loss solutions.

Our full-service facility also offers a Cancer Center distinguished by the Commission on Cancer as a Center of Excellence, with the largest Bone Marrow Transplant Center in the Rocky Mountain region. P/SL holds centers of excellence designations in neonatal intensive care, spine and joint care and bariatric surgery as well as stroke certification and level IV trauma.

Position Summary:
This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke's Medical Center of optimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.

The Medical Telemetry RN is responsible for the delivery of nursing care to the patient requiring telemetry and/or medical surgical care. The Medical Telemetry RN serves as primary nurse and/or care coordinator, leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. The Medical Telemetry RN oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse; BLS Healthcare provider. ACLS required within the first 12 months of hire.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

EKG interpretation competency and/or course within the first 6 months of hire. BSN preferred.

Experience: One year experience in acute care preferred.

Special Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.

Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills.

The Critical Care RN oversees and directs the care of the critically ill patient. The Critical Care RN is responsible for the care of open-heart surgery patients, patients with multisystem organ failure, patients requiring kidney and kidney and pancreas transplants and other patients meeting ICU admissions criteria. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients.
