RN - MED SURG12 hour nights$5,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS POSITION SUMMARY:The Registered Nurse (RN) is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, prioritizing, organizing,administering, and evaluating patient care for a group of patients on the unit. The nurse is accountable forcooperation with the unit management in the coordination of patient care and services.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Utilizes assessment skills and techniques to determine patient needs and condition upon admission and on an ongoing basis, responding appropriately
- Completes and documents the nursing admission assessment in a thorough and accurate manner as defined by unit policy
- Assesses the need for patient/family instruction
- Make rounds on all patients on the team
- Initiate, develop and document patient plan of care based on patient’s assessment and medical diagnosiswhile setting priorities for nursing action in accordance with the unit’s policy on time-frames
- Review and update the plan of care once every 24 hours or as necessary
- Develop patient teaching and discharge plan as necessary
- Collaborates with other health team members in planning and providing care
- Delegates care to team members based on complexity, staff education and competency, state regulations and Bonner General Health policy and procedure
- Provides safe and comprehensive nursing care according to state regulations, hospital policy and procedure and DNV standards
- Establish care priorities based on patient problems; Notify physician promptly regarding concerns
- Must be proficient in medication administration, including IV therapy, as evidenced by lack of medicationerrors. Reports medication errors
- Perform procedures accurately, completely and safely according to established policy and procedure andphysician orders
- Provide care with minimal supervision in a timely manner
- Maintains a safe environment for patients. Uses safety precautions appropriately
- Demonstrates understanding and utilization of Universal Precautions, asepsis and infection control procedures
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of all patient (HIPAA) information, staff and confidential hospital business
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships with all staff members

- BGH maintains the right to establish work schedules and to be ensured of employee’s attendance whenscheduled. Maintaining regular attendance and punctuality is a required Essential Function of this position
- Charge Nurse or Preceptor as delegated

- Ability to read, write legibly and comprehend the written and spoken word in English
- Basic computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new software programs required
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Experience: Minimum, graduate nurse of accredited professional nursing program
- Current State of Idaho (or compact state) RN license
- Current BLS (AHA)
