Summary of Position Outcomes

Directs the nursing services unit, programs and activities ensuring the highest degree of quality patient care. Assists with and develops and implements short- and long-term goals and objectives. Planning, organizing, developing, directing, and evaluating the nursing service operation for their respective unit, ensuring the highest degree of quality resident care. Ensures that all applicable Federal, State, and local standards are adhered to. Shares in the responsibilities of the on-call leadership phone. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or as required to meet emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Performs this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Registered nurse or licensed practical nurse with a current State of Indiana license

• Must be able to read regulations and write clearly.

• Must be able to communicate in courteous, friendly manner.

• Ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates.

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

• Must be able to understand and follow established policies and procedures for the facility.

• General knowledge of Federal and State regulations.

• Ability to supervise and coordinate nursing staff.
