The Staff Registered Professional Nurse III (Staff RN III) is licensed to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia, in good standing and without limitations; has a minimum of two years (2) years" full-time experience as a registered professional nurse, and has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, an Associate Degree (AD) or a Diploma in Nursing. The BSN degree is preferred.
The Northside Hospital Staff RN III manages care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the nursing division, to include the Northside Nursing Collaborative Care Model. STAFF RN III: The Staff RN III position is part of the NSH Nursing Excellence Track (NEXT) program. Staff RN IIIs are competent nurses and practice professional nursing in various clinical areas and settings.
Distinguishing characteristics of this level: The Staff RN III Provides safe, competent patient care; is knowledgeable of current patient care guidelines, communicates with peers, colleagues, providers and others; and utilizes resources for specific patient conditions. Independently implements the nursing process for patients and families and integrates unit- and service-wide evidence-based practice resources into clinical practice.
Is competent and safe in the operation of unit-based patient care technology; and routinely utilizes computer documentation and hospital information systems; Continues to develop personal practice competencies, skills and knowledge. Serves as a preceptor for newly hired nurses, nursing students, nurse interns, nurse externs and other "learners". Participates in unit and service-wide patient safety and quality measures, and is continuously prepared for unannounced surveys from the Joint Commission, the State of Georgia, and other quality organizations. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude; supports peers and colleagues, and participates in peers and colleague's practice reviews. Creates personal goals for lifelong learning and professional growth.

Minimum of 2 years full- time experience as a RN post Orientation or Residency training.
Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NALS, PALS, etc.) are unit specific.
