The Staff Registered Professional Nurse III (Staff RN III) is licensed to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia, in good standing and without limitations; has a minimum of two years (2) years" full-time experience as a registered professional nurse, and has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, an Associate Degree (AD) or a Diploma in Nursing. The BSN degree is preferred.

The Northside Hospital Staff RN III manages care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the nursing division, to include the Northside Nursing Collaborative Care Model. Additionally, the practice of all professional nurses at Northside Hospital reflects the values of collaboration, communication, coordination, integration, and empowerment. Northside Hospital Staff Registered Nurse positions are based on a sequential progression from a novice nurse to an expert.

The job descriptions for Staff RN I to Staff RN VI therefore imply that a nurse who is employed at a specific level possesses the knowledge, skills, competencies and critical thinking abilities of all prior (lower) levels. STAFF RN III: The Staff RN III position is part of the NSH Nursing Excellence Track (NEXT) program. Staff RN IIIs are competent nurses and practice professional nursing in various clinical areas and settings.

Distinguishing characteristics of this level: The Staff RN III Provides safe, competent patient care; is knowledgeable of current patient care guidelines, communicates with peers, colleagues, providers and others; and utilizes resources for specific patient conditions. Independently implements the nursing process for patients and families and integrates unit- and service-wide evidence-based practice resources into clinical practice.

Is competent and safe in the operation of unit-based patient care technology; and routinely utilizes computer documentation and hospital information systems; Continues to develop personal practice competencies, skills and knowledge. Serves as a preceptor for newly hired nurses, nursing students, nurse interns, nurse externs and other "learners". Participates in unit and service-wide patient safety and quality measures, and is continuously prepared for unannounced surveys from the Joint Commission, the State of Georgia, and other quality organizations. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude; supports peers and colleagues, and participates in peers and colleague's practice reviews. Creates personal goals for lifelong learning and professional growth.


  • Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.

  • Minimum of 2 years full- time experience as a RN post Orientation or Residency training.

  • Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NALS, PALS, etc.) are unit specific.


  • Other preferred RN attributes are unit specific.

Position: Physical Therapist Assistant Coverage Area: Cumming, GA Home Office: Cumming, GA Position Summary: Provide physical therapy treatments to PruittHealth Home Health patients in their place of residence under the supervision/direction of a physical therapist. Essential Job Functions: * Assist with the development and implementation of the plan of care within goals defined by the physician, patient/patient family and interdisciplinary team. * Provide therapy services according to the plan of care that has been developed and ordered by the physician and under the direction of a physical therapist. * Meet agency productivity standards. Utilize time and resources effectively. * Prepare clinical documentation including assessments, visit notes, and progress notes. * Coordinate services as directed by the RN Care Manager and/or Patient Care Coordinator. * Submit all documentation within timelines determined by the agency. * Assess the health status of assigned patients according to the agency policies and procedures and job standards. * Regularly reevaluate the patient's level of function and skilled therapy needs in collaboration with the physical therapist. * Treat the patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and obtain maximum outcomes according to the established plan of care. * Assist the physical therapist in assessing the physical disability and level of function of patients. * Perform other duties as assigned by Patient Care Coordinator. * Participate in the agency Performance Improvement Program. * Maintain competence level to meet agency and JCAHO standards governing personnel training, qualifications and patient care. Participate in the agency's in-service and education program. * Actively participate in interdisciplinary team conferencing. * Advise and consult the family and other interdisciplinary team members to promote the optimal functional outcomes. * Instruct the patient/patient caregiver(s) on the total physical therapy program. * Participate in center/agency surveys (Licensure / JCAHO), and any subsequently required reports. * Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in the field. Maintain current license/certification, as required. * Attend and participate in mandatory in-services. * Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment. * Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor. Licensure, Certification, and Education Requirements: * Must have a valid and unrestricted professional license in state of practice. * Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. If foreign-trained, the program must be deemed substantially equivalent to a Physical Therapist Assistant entry level education in the U.S. by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the APTA. * Current CPR certification. Required Skills and Experience: * Minimum of 2 years' therapy experience. * Valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance. Preferred Skills and Experience: * Home health experience.
