VIEW JOBS 1/17/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-04-17T00:00 We Are Hiring 1 Medical, Oncology Unit at Lourdes, Ascension, in Binghamton, New York, is hiring a Registered Nurse to work Full Time, 72 hours per pay period, night shift 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with full time benefits. The Oncology is one of the most rewarding fields in Nursing! As our Registered Nurse - Medical Oncology, you will be proving care and support to patients who may be suffering from cancer or have the potential to develop it. As our Registered Nurse - Medical Oncology, you will be proving care and support to patients who may be suffering from cancer or have the potential to develop it. 1 Medical is our Oncology/Hospice/Medical-Surgical 28 bed unit which consists of 16 beds on our Ross wing, and 12 beds on our West wing (including two hospice suites). Our unit has all private beds for our patients. Our tech ratios range from 1:10 patients on day shift, 1:10 on Evenings, and 1:12-1:16 on night shift. Our unit utilizes Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), and Unit Secretaries who work closely alongside our Registered Nurses (RNs) to help with tasks throughout their day. We use Cerner as our electronic medical record. Our team works closely with our hospitalists, oncologists, radiation therapy team, palliative care team, and local hospice organizations to provide quality, holistic, care to all the patients we serve. Our unit follows a shared governance model utilizing a Unit Based Practice Council that meets monthly to discuss quality improvement initiatives for the department. What You Will Do Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. * Implement and monitor patient care plans. * Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. * Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. * Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. * Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: * BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. * Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: * Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
