The Registered Nurse manages all aspects of the nursing process and the delivery of patient and family centered care. The Registered Nurse has the responsibility and authority to request and use governing and administrative resources, technological and support systems, and multidisciplinary clinical experts necessary to manage and deliver quality, cost effective patient care.

Required:

  • To perform this job successfully within the scope of nursing, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to demonstrate any knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned department.

  • 2 years of medical/surgical experience required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a Bachelor's Degree is required

  • Position requires a Valid/Current license to practice as a RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. BLS required. ACLS preferred. Telemetry Certification (Experience) is required.

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-03-04T00:00 Under the leadership of the Pharmacy Director/Pharmacy Operations Manager, the Coordinator of Sterile Compounding Quality and Compliance works independently and is responsible for the quality assurance of the sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical compounding at North Shore Medical Center Pharmacy. Working in collaboration with the department's Lead IV Certified Pharmacy Technician, the Coordianator of Sterile Compounding Quality and Compliance assures the creation, implementation, and management of all sterile and non-sterile preparations meets the highest quality standards in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements. In collaboration with the Pharmacy Director and Pharmacy Operations Manager, the Coordinator of Sterile Compounding and Quality will be responsible for the development of a robust surveillance program which includes mandatory auditing and monitoring to ensure that necessary measures and the interpretation of documented results and/or excursions related to environmental monitoring, personnel, standard operating policy and procedure, end product testing, and action plans to address correction and/or preventative measure meet state and federal regulatory requirements. NSMC internal standard operating policy and procedure, U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP), The Joint Commission accreditation standards (TJC), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy, state and federal regulations will serve the Coordinator of Sterile Compounding Quality and Compliance as reference standards to support the program. * 3-5 years experience in a large scale/high volume/high demand hospital and/or compounding/ manufacturing facility required * Expertise in compliance standards and regulations promulgated by the relevant agencies: DPH, BORP, TJC, CMS, FDA, USP required * Bachelors of science degree (i.e. Microbiology)/advance degree preferred or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required * Current licensure as a Pharmacist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
