Cohort: February 8, 2021

12 hour shifts rotating 36 hours per week with every other weekend

What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Seton, you will have the opportunity to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • One or more of the following:

  • Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

Work Experience:

  • None required.

VIEW JOBS 12/31/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-03-31T00:00 We Are Hiring Ascension Seton Hays - Kyle, TX RN Operating Room Day 7am-3pm schedule - must take call * Must have OR RN experience What You Will Do Responsibilities: * Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure. * Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure. * Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning. * Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use. * Participate in pre-operative assessment of the patient. * Provide closure of the subcutaneous and skin without the surgeon's assistance as requested. Placs and suture drains as directed. Document experience needed to maintain competency. * Identify patient/family learning needs and implement appropriate measures when assisting responsibilities permit. Promote patients/staff relationships and affect conflict resolution. Participate in development of scheduling system to assure absence of conflict. Assist with staff education activities. * Participate in product evaluation, cost containment and ordering of supplies, organization and proper processing of supplies, instruments and equipment. Contribute to and participate in quality improvement and other appropriate committee activities. * Perform other duties as assigned. * May be required to be "on-call."
