Job Description: Person Memorial Hospital

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

Documents patient care given.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Works closely and professionally with all departments in an effort to maintain a teamwork approach

Serves as a mentor when training new employees in the various functional activities required for all patient types.

Supports Department staff in measuring and monitoring RN and staff performance regarding quality & accuracy on a monthly basis, or as needed. Conducts audits to ensure compliance with department standards of care.

Supports RN staff in collaboration with Department Director with: Work Schedules Evaluations Escalating patient/employee concerns, when appropriate.

Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and Mission and Value statement of the Hospital.

Job Requirements Minimum Education: Successful completion of the Nursing Diploma Program or an Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required.

Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Licenses: Registered Nurse License

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire.

Minimum Work Experience:

Recommend 2-3 years of recent experience a healthcare setting.

Registered in and/or performs studies in two of the following modalities: Diagnostic Radiology, MRI, CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, or DEXA. Reports to: Director of Imaging Services FLSA: Non-exempt Essential Functions Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patient's needs and providing patient education. Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes the work area. Obtains brief history and records all pertinent information on finished exams (patient data, dates, views, etc.) Verifies the patient by checking identification arm band and prepares patient for the procedure. Explains the procedure to the patient. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and utilization of proper positioning, protocol and techniques to obtain a quality diagnostic image. Identifies normal anatomy and/or unusual findings. Prepares films for interpretation by the reading radiologist in an accurate and timely manner. Practices safety measures in radiography by adhering to all governing regulations. Follows universal precautions, infection control guidelines and sterile technique. Performs other functions as required or assigned. Job Requirements Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a formal radiologic technology program. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible (must be obtained within one year of hire or from start of working in second modality).
