Job Summary:

Participates in a residency core curriculum based on their individual learning needs. Provides direct nursing care, alongside a coach, in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Transitions to RN Resident II upon successful completion of the core curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in a residency core curriculum based on their individual learning needs.

  • Provides direct nursing care, alongside a coach, in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Establishes and/or revises priorities for patient care activities based on the following: acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability.

  • Initiates and/or maintains interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.

  • Responds to data indicating risk to individual's health and initiates action to correct, reduce, or prevent the risk.

  • Seeks supervision, consultation, assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.

  • Complies with established hospital/department personnel policies.

  • Uses communication strategies in order to achieve desirable outcomes.

  • Documents in patient's medical record according to established guidelines.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • BSN preferred

Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year current acute direct patient care RN experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

The host functions as a guest services specialist and is the first point of contact for most patient encounters. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for patients, coordinating with other providers, and managing patient scheduling, while assisting in the back office on an as needed basis. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive. NON-CLINICAL DUTIES * Front desk duties, including: patient scheduling, documentation, check-in, check-out, etc. * Medical record requests and abstraction * Coordinate specialist visits, referrals, and other care outside of the clinic * Documents care provided accurately on patient records. * Records accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines * Process test results and provide the patient with timely results via e-message, mail or phone as directed in written instructions by the Provider * Participates in outreach to patients to drive engagement among Paladina Health eligible patient groups * Maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments CLINICAL DUTIES (performed as necessary) * Escorts patients to room and ensures that exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked * Reviews previous medical information and gathers any relevant updated health information from the patient to inform the provider * Take patient vitals performs any needed laboratory tests * Perform blood draws and basic laboratory tests. Work with the contracted labs for additional tests * Give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures * Prepares and administers approved medications and immunizations via oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous or intradermal at the direction of and upon written order from the Provider * Partners with other members of the care team to develop individual patient plan of care including identifying and working to address gaps in care Desired Attributes You are passionate about transforming the way healthcare is delivered and want to improve the quality of care for people.
