Responsibilities

Looking for an innovative role with baked-in work/life balance?! We have an opening for an RN co-manager of our Virtual Companion service. This novel team provides live video monitoring to patients at risk of falling across more than two dozen hospitals in 6 states. This leader would be part of a high-functioning team also leading virtual ICU, regional telemetry, virtual hospitalist, and consulting nurse services in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Job Summary:

This job is responsible for planning, managing and evaluating the implementation and daily operations of the regional CHI Franciscan Health (CHI-FH) Clinical Operations Center which executes the implementation of safe patient care based on best practice and standards of care throughout the region. Work involves developing standards/procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and standard of care, consolidating/standardizing clinical work flow/practices across the system and promoting/facilitating organization-wide adoption of technology which provides real-time access to data elements relating to patient care and supports/enhances the care process while improving upon efficiency and effectiveness.

Work includes:

  • Developing/administering department budget (including capital equipment) and managing/evaluating assigned staff engaged in remote monitoring and related activities;

  • Ensuring that overall goals relating to productivity, quality of care, patient satisfaction and/or growth in market share are achieved;

  • Developing/implementing/monitoring clinical quality improvement initiatives to enhance/streamline current procedures/processes and to ensure programs/services meet all relevant standards;

  • Ensuring that education/training is provided to appropriate healthcare providers and other stakeholders; and

  • Performing ongoing performance improvement activities (e.g. service recovery, identifying/responding to negative quality trends, ensuring survey readiness).

Work requires strong communication/change management skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of internal/external committees/work groups and interdisciplinary teams to represent program interests, promote organizational objectives and ensure compliance with standards of patient care/practice, safety/risk management guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements.

Work also requires knowledge of the concepts, standards and practices of inpatient, outpatient, patient access and remote monitoring services.

Considerable knowledge of medical necessity criteria is also required to understand and validate the level of care needed and to facilitate the research of billing issues and development of effective appeals. Proficiency in the effective coordination of all the interrelated elements associated with transition to new healthcare delivery systems is also required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the duties of the position

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

  • Six years of progressively responsible related work experience (preferably in a hospital environment) that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities, including two years in a supervisory or management capacity

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is strongly preferred

License/Certification:

  • Current licensure as an RN by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
