Overview

The Registered Nurse is accountable for the provision of care as delegated and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Medical Center. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts. Graduate of approved program of vocational or practical nursing education with current Arkansas State Board Licensure.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:

This position is a designated as "Safety Sensitive Position" under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current, active license to practice in Arkansas

  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Ability to Multi task and handle busy and stressful situations

  • Adhere to dress code, conduct and attendance polices of Medical Center

  • QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF ORIENTATION:

  • Successful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

  • Aggression management training

Responsibilities

  • Assists Physician/Nurse Practitioner with patient assessment, examination and procedures.

  • Enters all necessary patient information in computer.

  • Completes referrals, FMLA forms, disability or other insurance forms within 72 hours.

  • Returns phone calls by the end of the day.

  • Communicates lab results to patient by either mail or telephone within 48 hours.

  • Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care.

  • Maintains current CPR certification and license at all times.

  • Works with Infection Control nurse, safety specialist, etc., to maintain appropriate clinic environment.

  • Utilizes effective interpersonal skills with patients, physicians, and other clinic staff.

  • Attends in-services and seminars as requested by Education and Clinic supervisor.

  • Performs other allowable duties as assigned by Clinic Supervisor, which may include assisting in other areas of clinic operations when not performing primary duties.

  • Maintains consistent chart records. Ensure that any patients that arrive at clinic for lab work have a current order in chart.

  • Demonstrates advocacy for patients and staff.

  • Participates in activities that promote personal and professional development.

  • Conveys information acquired through seminars and workshops to unit team members.
