The Clinical Risk Managerprovides support for and conducts risk management initiatives within ProvidenceHealth & Services Oregon Region. This role acts as a resource and providesconsultative support for clinical risk topics presented by leaders andcaregivers involved in direct patient care across the healthcare continuum.Additionally, the Clinical Risk Manager coordinates with Patient Safety,Quality Management, Customer Care, and Medical Staff Services in qualityimprovement and grievance resolution efforts. This position offers theopportunity to partner with Regional Claims Management on the identification ofpotential claims and management of current claims and lawsuits and providesprimary management of all Early Discussion and Resolution cases. While anautonomous position, this role partners closely with Patient Safety, QualityManagement, and Customer Care to facilitate disclosure of unanticipatedoutcomes and work toward resolution with patients and families. Finally, thisrole will collate and report out to Division and Ministry leaders on data andidentified trends of risk and claims in Oregon.
The Clinical Risk Managerrole has historically existed at Providence Medical Group and at the differenthospitals with their own Risk Manager. This position has been revamped andcentralized so that it will be within 1 regional program, joining 2 other RiskManagers for ambulatory and acute care.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Oregon
5 years of clinical experience in a progressively responsible position(s) requiring contact with various departments
Demonstrated evidence of self-motivation
High level of communication skills in order to clearly and concisely communicate with healthcare disciplines of all levels, Administration, and Professional staff
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Masters Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business, Healthcare or Business Administration
Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification
Experience working with Patient Claims & Risk Management issues
