Job Summary
Position responsible for supervising and managing department staff, providing leadership to the nursing unit, and for ensuring positive physician/staff relations. Position oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit and works to ensure clinical quality and patient satisfaction. It may involve participating in the marketing, planning, program development, and community outreach functions as determined by the department director.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors of Nursing required; Masters Degree in Nursing preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing required
Certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred
Clinical specialty certification preferred
Completion of American Heart Association - Basic Life Support required
Other certification based upon specific nursing unit may be required
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
At least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse and three (3) years experience directly managing staff
Previous experience in a clinical education role, preferred
