Job Description
The Mgr of Med/Surg is accountable and responsible for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care in the Medical Surgical Unit.
The Manager assumes 24/7 leadership responsibility for the assigned unit in collaboration with the division director. The manager is responsible for the development of patient care programs, policies and procedures. The manager will participate with administration, management, medical staff, clinical leaders and frontline employees in the decision-making structures and processes. The manager will implement an effective, ongoing program to measure assess, and improve the reliability and quality of care delivered to patients. The manager is responsible for budgeting and managing supplies, equipment and personnel for the assigned unit. The manager will ensure that the staff has sufficient information to comply with corporate compliance program. The manager will also be expected to maintain clinical skills and assist with patient care as necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or working toward completion within three years
Licensure:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana or any other state with evidence of application for Indiana licensure.
Training & experience:
- BLS and ACLS certification must be maintained while in this position
