RN, Clinical Manager

Overview

The Clinical Manager of the Surgery department assesses the care being delivered to patients on assigned unit in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of care of WHMC. Contributes to the development of more complex patient care plans and serves as a resource to staff for complex patients care.

Supervises, supports and coaches other in utilizing the nursing process with all patients on the unit. Assists the department director in identifying unit educational needs in relation to the nursing process. Monitors the quality of and outcomes of patient/family teaching done in unit.

Identifies nursing problems for investigation. Coordinates staff schedule. Reviews/revises policies and procedures.

Services as a resource to other nursing staff for problem solving. Reviews hours worked and reviews payroll reports. Communicates with other departments as needed to provide efficient and appropriate patient care.

Qualifications

Current CA RN license and BLS, ACLS and PALS certificates required. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
