JOB SUMMARY:

This clinical position uses clinical/nursing knowledge of documentation requirements to improve overall quality and completeness of documentation in the patient's medical record using a multidisciplinary team approach. Works in a collaborative effort with providers to ensure clinical information in the medical record is present and accurate, capturing the appropriate severity of illness and risk of mortality for the level of services provided.

  • Position is classified as professional which requires a minimum four week notice upon resignation

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelors, Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • Five (5) years recent experience in an acute care setting

Preferred

  • Critical Care experience, Utilization Management, Case Management, or coding experience

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

REQUIRED

RN | Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.

Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), if not certified, CCDS or CDIP must be completed within 1 year after eligibility period met

VIEW JOBS 2/17/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-17T00:00 About the Position: The PRN Clinical Consultant (CC) is responsible for utilizing professional skills and clinical experience to gain insights from clinical teams supporting adult patients with a pituitary disorder. The goal of the CC is to connect with health care professionals in endocrinology/pituitary treatment to identify patient and disease state insights and burdens, how line of therapy decisions are made, patient volume, challenges offices face and the types of support theyd like to see for their staff and patients. Essential Functions: * Using a list provided by VMS, the Clinical Consultant will be responsible for creating a weekly/monthly plan, scheduling appointments in pituitary and endocrinology centers, referral centers, and community-based offices to identify and document pre-approved information about the facility and its practices. The clinical consultant will actively route within their assigned territory. * The CC will engage the HCP office staff (Endocrinologists, Nurses, Office Staff) and utilize motivational interviewing expertise to capture desired insights and information (i.e. treatment practices, patient volume, challenges, etc.) * The CC will utilize approved materials, messaging and research questions to support the HCP engagement, and will share research regarding acromegaly patient care with the HCP office. * The CC will document activity in CRM and use available CRM tools to assist in achieving expected results within territory. * The CC will follow up in a timely manner on committed appointments and referrals to other health care professionals. * The CC will ensure all activities are conducted in a manner that is compliant with all VMS, client, and industry mandated rules and regulations. * The CC will share best practices, provide feedback, and identify opportunities to improve outcomes from the engagements. * The CC will perform other duties as assigned Required License and/or Credentials: * Registered Nurse Required Skills: * HCP education and/or clinical specialist background required * Previous experience in contract or clinical specialist role on behalf of pharmaceutical, biotech or device company preferred * 3+ years experience preferred * Goal oriented with a strong ability to self-manage in an assigned territory * Ability to connect with healthcare professionals in a trustworthy manner to encourage thorough responses [to information sought] * Critical thinking to assess facility and provider needs * Available to travel (drive/fly) to sites within assigned territory and call on HCP offices during business hours (approximately XX hours of in-services/week, plus prep work and travel) * Competent and comfortable utilizing technology * Intermediate knowledge of CRM, including analyzing the data to effectively drive toward objectives * Eligible to participate in federal healthcare programs or in federal procurement or non-procurement programs VMS Biomarketing Greensboro NC
