BASIC PURPOSE: The RN Clinical Coordinator is accountable to assign, coordinate and direct nursing care for a given unit and shift.
The RN Clinical Coordinator is directly responsible for the quality of care provided assuring a high level of customer service and physician interaction. The RN Clinical Coordinator collaborates with Perioperative management to facilitate process planning, organization and direction. They are responsible for the daily communication, feedback, coaching, and problem solving on the unit.
This person collaborates with management in the employee performance appraisal process. The RN Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection, assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient problems/needs and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The RN Clinical Coordinator coordinates, provides and duties patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by the health team members. The RN clinical coordinator possesses good interpersonal and teamwork skills and practices the Core Values of Mercy Health Care System.
