STATUS: Full-time, Days plus call

The circulating Surgical RN under the supervision and direction of the Surgical Nurse Manager, is a full time employee responsible for coordinating the care of all patients in the operating room, recovery room and out-patient areas. Is responsible for meeting the established surgical standards of nursing practice, for managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment in the operating room, recovery room and out-patient area and for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. He/she should be emotionally stable and mature, accurate, and flexible in his/her dealings with other people.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate of an accredited college of nursing

• Previous OR experience or in-depth orientation to department

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• RN Licensed in the state of Indiana

• CPR Certified

• ACLS Training, Certification Highly Recommended

• Corporate compliance

• Annual flu vaccine

• Annual Fire/Safety Training

SKILLS:

• Extremely organized

• High level of professional judgment

• Tact and diplomacy to deal with patient's family, physician and hospital staff

• Possesses knowledge IV start and maintenance

• Ability to perform IV starts and maintenance

• Ability to accurately monitor cardiac rhythms
