Compensation: The minimum pay rate for this position is $33.15/hour. Starting pay rates will be based on years of experience.

Essential job functions and responsibilities

  • Travel to CHLs and homes to see our hospice clients and their families

  • Knowledgeable of state and federal regulations regarding hospice.

  • Obtain, implement, perform, and maintain orders as received by physicians overseeing patient care services.

  • Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

  • Teach patients and families or caregivers self-care techniques as appropriate. Provides medication, diet, and other instructions as ordered by physicians and recognizes and uses opportunities for health counseling with patients and families or caregivers.

  • Instruct, supervise, and evaluate home care aides as applicable.

  • Instruct, supervise, and evaluate the visit nurses as applicable.

This position will work with clients of WesleyLife Hospice in central Iowa. This role will be required to take visits in the following counties: Boone, Dallas, Hamilton, Jasper, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Story, Warren.
