Manages patient care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the 56 bed Bone Marrow Transplant unit. The Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program at Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) is one of the largest and most comprehensive programs of its kind in the Southeast and has among the best survival rates in the nation for bone marrow transplants. Northside Hospital's BMT Program is committed to providing clinical excellence and compassionate care for patients undergoing blood marrow and stem cell transplantation.

In 2018, Northside Hospital had among the best survival outcomes in United States for the tenth consecutive year (2009-18), per data released by Be The Match and the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research 1. NHCI is also one of only two centers in the country (out of 177) and the only center in the Southeast to maintain outcomes in the "above expected" range for ten or more consecutive reporting years.

REQUIRED:

1.Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.

2.Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

REQUIRED: 1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. 2. Less than one year of experience as a registered professional nurse. 3. Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). 4. Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) are unit specific. 5. Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies and/or certification required as a condition of employment. 6. Other Select Unit/Role specific REQUIREMENTS: UNIT REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT Bone Marrow Transplant • Obtains ACLS certification within one year of employment Critical Care • Obtains ACLS certification within one year of employment Emergency Department • Maintains certification in ACLS Gastro-Intestinal Lab • Maintains certification in ACLS -for registered nurses performing moderate sedation. Neurosciences • Maintains ACLS certification for Neurovascular Intermediate patient care required • Completion of Critical Care and Basic Arrhythmia course preferred Special Care Nurseries • Certified as Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Surgical Services Operating Room • Prior Operating Room experience or completion of a course in Operating Room nursing preferred. PACU • Prior PACU or ICU experience or completion of a course in Post-Anesthesia Care nursing preferred All AREAS • ACLS preferred PREFERRED: 1. BSN degree preferred 2.
