RN - Palliative Care Clinic
Full Time Day Shift
Detroit / 9:30am
6pm M-F, No Weekends/Holidays/On-Call
Looking for nurses who are passionate about the palliative population. The clinic works directly with Henry Ford Cancer patients. Our nurses coordinate care for patients pertaining to their pain & symptom issues. We do a lot of triaging, education, in-basket, medication refills, some scheduling, lots of therapeutic communication with patients/families, etc.
Minimum of 1 year RN inpatient or Ambulatory/Clinic RN experience. Experience with cancer patients and/or hospice experience in a hospital environment. Some leadership experience preferred.
In addition to orientation, you will be required to complete palliative courses we provide within 6 months. Palliative Certification will also be required within 2 years. (Henry Ford Health covers the cost)

Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.
Preferred Experience:

Required Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation. Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel.
Preferred experience in the specialty.
Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy.
Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
