This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Acute Care of the Elderly (1D ACE
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 4 to 7 Patients to a Nurse (Subject to Change)
Population: Geriatric Population heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, failure to thrive (due to dementia, etc.), falls.
Orientation: Orientation is based on individual needs. The length can vary and be adjusted if needed. Orientation is started on days, and then you transition to your hired shift.
Why ACE: The ACE unit has a team of dedicated, compassionate team members focused on the unique needs of the older adult population. Patients present with acute and chronic needs which are addressed by a multidisciplinary team approach. The care of the older adult is often viewed as challenging yet rewarding.
