Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.

Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Unit is open 24 hours a day- 7 Days a week

VIEW JOBS 3/4/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-02T00:00 As a Registered Cardiac Sonographer working independently and under supervision, according to established policies and procedures, performs routine and complex echocardiography examinations and performs and provides preliminary interpretation of studies performed. Examinations performed may include, but are not limited to, trans-thoracic echocardiograms, trans-esophageal echocardiograms, stress and contrast echocardiograms (utilizing commercially prepared contrast agents). ACLS certification and experience in placing intravenous lines and administration of IV medications is desirable. Experience in EKG interpretation and cardiac stress testing is preferred. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Must have experience as required for registry in echocardiography by either the American registry of Diagnostic Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and skill in the performance of trans-thoracic contrast echocardiograms. Experience in placing intravenous lines and administration of IV medications is desirable. Experience in EKG interpretation and cardiac and vascular stress testing is preferred. Three to six months orientation to department policies, procedures protocols and equipment we usually required. Under certain conditions, may be exposed to blood and/or body fluids or potentially infective materials. Requires constant hearing, speaking, vision and repetitive hand movement. Requires attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
