Risk Officer

Adyen is looking for a Risk Officer for our San Francisco office. This is a customer-facing role and the main focus will be protecting and educating our merchants and internal stakeholders regarding fraud and chargebacks. This role will be responsible for reporting to the Card Schemes and for acting as Adyen's subject matter expert on disputing chargebacks and mitigating fraud.

What you'll do

  • Monitor fraud and chargeback levels for the North America portfolio and provide proactive notifications to wider Risk Team, merchants, and partners

  • Understand Card Scheme rules/regulations and internal procedures that affect risk, fraud and dispute processing

  • Communicate guidance related to risk and chargebacks to merchants and internal teams

  • Support merchants leveraging our RevenueProtect solution to maintain low frauds levels

  • Generate reports and insights regarding chargebacks and fraud

  • Analyze payment data to discover anomalies and trends for fraud and chargeback prevention

  • Work with the product and development teams in order to generate platform enhancements that can assist in fraud prevention and mitigation.

  • This role is based out of our San Francisco office

  • This is a full-time position with the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours/week

  • You have full professional proficiency (written and verbal) in English

Who you are

  • 5 years experience working in payments risk or chargeback role

  • You have a solid knowledge of fraud, chargeback and scheme rules and are able to provide detailed requirements to internal and external customers

  • Ability to effectively communicate the importance of the revenue-loss mitigation paradigm

  • You have a high level of self-motivation, always looking for ways to improve and make our processes more efficient

  • You have strong analytic skills and advanced Excel experience

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Bonus points if you have experience creating impactful dashboards using BI tools (such as Looker)

The team provides shared services to the organization, enabling HR to proactively identify issues, effectively manage risks, and deliver on internal and external commitments This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Risk & Control Officer to join the HR Control Executive team and play a significant role in enhancing its risk reporting capability. This individual will lead the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of risk reports. Additionally, he/she will provide thought leadership and apply areas of expertise to multiple risk programs to enhance risk reporting that is effective and efficient in discovering, measuring and trending the inherent risks across the line of business. This is a fast paced, dynamic and quickly changing work environment where priorities or focus may need to shift frequently. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Partnering with the businesses by providing operational risk expertise.
