Risk Manager

As a Risk Manager on Capital One's Shared Tech Managing Data Steward team, you will apply your project management and analytical skills to ensure Shared Tech data is managed appropriately. You will work with data producers across Shared Tech responsible for developing and implementing data management and risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. Risk Managers partner with Executives and their teams to identify potential Risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.

Enterprise Services Risk professionals are highly motivated with excellent project management and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

Responsibilities:

This role supports the Shared Tech's program governance for Enterprise Data Management (EDM). Specifically, this role will:

  • Provide oversight for Shared Tech data transformation activities

  • Develop and implement a risk service model that meets Enterprise Data Management policy requirements

  • Identify controls and monitoring for Shared Tech systems and data

  • Identify and support EDM risk metrics & reporting for Shared Tech

  • Proactively identify process improvements that will improve EDM risk management practices

  • Partner with EDM to develop and build out the Shared Tech Risk service

  • Collaborate effectively across multiple organizations such as Non-Tech LOBs, Tech, peer Business Risk Offices, Second Line Risk Management, and ES Risk to achieve objectives

  • Support innovation through process improvements and automation

  • Support ad hoc projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of Risk Management experience

  • At least 2 years of Project Management experience

  • At least 2 years of Technology experience

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 years of Risk Management experience

  • 7 years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk

  • 7 years of Technology experience

  • 2 years of Data Management experience

  • 2 years of experience with EDM processes

  • PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)

  • Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams

  • JIRA/Confluence

  • Strong communication, both written and verbal

  • Autonomous

  • Strong relationship building skills, customer focus and ability to collaborate across teams to deliver
