Role Description

Business Risk Management Real Estate Valuation ("BRM-REV") is responsible for the specification, procurement and review of all third-party real estate appraisal reports for Deutsche Bank's global real estate related business activities. BRM-REV is staffed with senior valuation professionals located in New York, London, Frankfurt and Hong Kong who also perform transaction consulting and portfolio monitoring functions.

BRM-REV is seeking a Director to manage its New York real estate valuation team. The position requires a motivated individual with appropriate professional credentials, and management experience to lead the real estate valuation team in its role as support for the Bank's U.S. based real estate businesses in a credit risk oriented, valuation, consulting, and analytical capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of bank's U.S. based real estate valuation team of credentialed real estate appraisers and of external appraisal review team

  • Bank Appraisal Policy and adherence to US and ECB regulations

  • Real estate valuation consulting

  • Review of complex real estate appraisals

  • In-depth real estate market analysis

  • Portfolio position reviews

  • Collateral monitoring of assets securing balance sheet loans

Requirements:

  • Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI)

  • State Licensed and Certified Commercial Real Estate Appraiser

  • Experience with multiple property types

  • Experience with multiple US markets

  • A reliable team player with a proactive "can do" attitude and strong work ethic

  • Highly motivated with excellent organizational skills

  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Argus DCF

  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong internal and external client relationships

  • Confidence, drive and enthusiasm

Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred * 15+ years of broad and deep risk management experience * Senior Credit Officer with knowledge of operational, market and franchise risk * Ability to meet deadlines * Solid understanding of credit policies and procedures * Knowledge of lending and of capital markets products and derivatives * Demonstrated Strong leadership skills * Serves as a point of escalation for key issues or time sensitive decisions * Acts decisively in high risk scenarios, assessing a situation based on available data, experience and judgment * Solid understanding of Citi global network and how to use the network to effectively manage the control environment for the global real estate group.
