The Analyst will work collaboratively with various support and project teams to ensure overall compliance with our company's Risk Management goals, policies and procedures. This position supports the corporate risk and insurance programs which may include property & casualty, surety bond program, and formulating various reports for the insurance programs. This position will handle commercial general liability claims of various levels of exposure and complexity which includes investigation to determine root cause, evaluation, determine appropriate line of coverage for reporting, and regulate potential subrogation.

Essential Functions:

  • Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate.

  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to support continual improvement.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of company goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of records/employee files.

  • Facilitates responses to requests for information, development, and implementation of action plans, and tracking of action plan status.

  • Exercises proper judgment and decision making to analyze the claims exposure, to determine the proper course of action.

  • Interacts extensively with various parties involved in the claim process, contracts, surety bonds, and commercial insurance renewals.

  • Knowledge of internal and external auditing standards and practices, including the audits of Commercial Insurance.

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and reporting processes.

  • Experience in reviewing the reliability and integrity of financial and operating information/systems and the means used to identify, measure, classify, and report such information.

  • Knowledge and ability to comply with carrier reporting requirements.

  • Will demonstrate complete knowledge of risk management processes through presentation of actions and responses to internal and external customer questions.

  • Processes claims consistent with insurance policies, procedures and "best practices" and also in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.

  • Possesses a functional and developing knowledge of the legal statutes and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively on teams.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities with quality and within a short timeline.

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to present cogent presentation of case facts, and a concise plan for closure.

  • Able to recognize and pursue excess insurance recoveries.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employee, managers, customers, insurance companies, and others.

  • Strong conceptual thinking and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and handle multiple, competing deadlines.

  • High school diploma

  • Texas Property and Casualty License

  • 5 or more years related Property and Casualty insurance experience

  • Team-oriented; willing to align work with team's priorities and goals

  • Skilled in organizational change

  • Clear and effective communication

Physical Demands:

  • Internal office environment with moderate noise level.

  • Sitting for extended period of time while viewing a computer monitor and performing various desk work.

  • Dexterity of hands and reaching to operate keyboard/calculator and file documents.

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs.

  • Vision requires eyesight sufficiently strong enough to permit extended close work and normal color perception.

  • Hearing and speaking in order to exchange information.

The incumbent will gather/synthesize data and metrics into practical insights and recommendations to make decisions collaboratively and independently. The results will then be used for forecasts and communicated to the business and its stakeholders across multiple areas within MoneyGram. This includes following recommendations into implementation across all tools necessary. The incumbent will also be centered on providing the business with statistical support in its decision making. This includes performing cross application analytics to explain relationships between the various business functions. Lastly, the incumbent will be centered on process improvement and project support; evaluates the data to determine if formal business process improvement projects need to be undertaken. Primary Responsibilities * Develops customer drop off funnels and suggest changes to mitigate the drop offs * Develops and maintains queries, reports, and metrics, to provide customized information for users to make decisions affecting multiple areas of MoneyGram. * Provides recommendations based on data analysis and sees those through implementation. * Accepts a high level of responsibility for integrity of reports and data provided. * Leads the investigation into relationships and processes between business and operational functions. * Clearly communicates findings to the business or stakeholders and provides steady state operations support, as needed. * Drives change and process improvements through metrics and analytics that will improve efficiencies and enable cost reductions across several areas within the business where risk is identified. * Performs other duties as assigned.
