The Ally internship program seeks to guide and mentor students with development opportunities designed to provide a bridge between the academic world and the world of business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Attend formal company orientation and training

  • Participate in executive speaking series

  • Have hands on experience in area of study; as well as participate in project based work

  • Communicate regularly with mentors

  • Lead an end of assignment presentation

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a background and/or strong interest in the Financial Services industry.

  • A rising Junior or Senior in a full-time undergraduate program.

  • Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0

  • Strong candidates will possess strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A passion for the financial services industry is strongly preferred.

  • Candidates should reside in a commutable distance from the Ally location to which they are assigned.

  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company.

Responsibilities A Day in the Life of a Summer Intern: Every day will be a new adventure at Meridian. The Meridian Internship is designed to provide educational experience in health care related business. Students receive an opportunity to observe and participate in non-critical functions related to the daily operations of a health care insurance company. You will work with every level of the Meridian Family during your internship here, from Directors to Manager to Team Leads. Some of our departments we are looking for summer interns are: Care Coordination Human Resources Pharmacy (MeridianRx) Communications Information Technology Utilization Management Training and Development Legal/Compliance Provider Services/Network Development Finance Member Services You may be interested in the Internship if you enjoy: * Professional Development – enhance your professionalism and education with programs like LEAN SIX SIGMA, wealth creation, resume workshops and Pecha Kucha (presentation skills workshop * Individual Departmental Projects – develop a project from the planning phase to a final presentation to our Leadership Team. * Team Building – practice good communication and build rapport with your peers with fun and challenging activities like the marshmallow challenge and vision board. * Exploring Detroit – experience the fun and adventure Detroit has to offer by participating in events like Tour of Detroit, Tigers games, city scavenger hunts and more. * Buddy Program – build professional relationships through shared experiences with current Meridian employees. * Athletics – get to know your fellow Meridian Family Members at volleyball, softball, bowling, floor hockey, and broomball * Meridian Mania – play an active role in the planning and executing events for our employee appreciation week. Summer projects may include: * Collaborating with Managers, Team Leads and Meridian Family Members to assist with departmental and company goals. * Working on process improvement within the department. * Assisting with the development and maintenance of new software programs within the IT department. * Identifying and replicating top level candidates during the interview process. * Assisting with benefit program development. * Developing programs to bolster employee engagement and Meridian activities. * Conduct outreach calls to Members related to Meridian Health Plan clinical priorities. * Development educational material for Training and Development.
