A career in our Model Risk and Validation practice, within Risk Data and Analytics services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients develop a strategic and sustainable approach to harness the value of their data and drive business results. We work with organisations across industries to develop customised, cost effective technology solutions that focus on delivering the relevant, actionable intelligence that executives need to understand operations and manage critical risks.As part of the team, you'll help organisations manage the deployment and maintenance of complex models used for risk management and valuation.


As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above

  • Train and lead staff

  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients

  • Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen

  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

Additional Educational Preferences:

A combination of an advanced Statistics degree with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance and/or Economics will be considered.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrates extensive knowledge of, and a proven record of success managing and executing data analytics projects within the Financial Services sector, including banking industry, consulting, or government regulatory positions.

Knowledge areas include

  • Extensive financial/econometric modeling focus;

  • Knowledge of /Proficiency with credit risk models, mortgage prepayment models, and/or complex discounted cash flow models;

  • Techniques for analysis of complex financial services data, including programming and computational techniques for large data sets and quantitative analysis;

  • Statistical techniques for analyzing financial data, including: sampling, optimization, logistic regression, and cluster analysis; and Visualization techniques for summarizing complex financial data analysis.

Demonstrates extensive abilities and a proven record of success as a manager of engagements and project teams, which include the following:

  • Ability and experience managing teams using leading programming and analytical tools to analyze AML data, including SAS, R, C++, SPSS, Oracle, SQL;

  • Demonstrated proficiency with advanced statistical/econometric modeling techniques and complex Excel-based spreadsheet models;

  • Thorough SAS programming skills - additional experience with Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ is a plus;

  • Demonstrated and proven extensive verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interface effectively with modelers as well as all levels of client management;

  • Understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback Identifying and addressing client needs, which includes the following: building solid relationships with clients; developing an awareness of Firm services; approaching client in an organized manner; delivering clear requests for information; demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor;

  • Prioritizing and handling multiple tasks; researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry, and technical matters; utilizing problem-solving skills; and, communicating effectively in written and verbal formats to various audiences (including various levels of management and external clients) in a professional business environment.
