Global Markets Division

The Global Markets Division (formerly Securities, Sales & Trading) of Goldman Sachs serves our clients by helping them to buy and sell financial products, finance their investments, and manage risk. Our clients our institutions including asset managers, hedge funds, pensions, endowments, financial service providers, and corporations. We provide them insights - investment research, trading ideas, market information - and analysis to make better decisions. We provide principal liquidity and facilitate transactions in fixed income, equity, currency and commodity products. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial part of Goldman Sachs with a passion for the markets and innovation, driven by individuals who thrive in fast-paced, changing environments and are energized by a bustling trading floor.

Marquee Business

The Marquee business is the digital storefront of Goldman Sachs' institutional client services. At the digital frontier of our industry, we design and build highly scalable, API-based web platforms that provide access to Goldman Sachs content, portfolio and instrument analytics, execution services, and core IP including data and risk services. These tools help transform and simplify the experience of institutional investors, while generating new revenue streams and business models for Goldman Sachs. Marquee is a creative, collaborative, and dynamic team composed of talented and passionate product managers, designers, engineers, and salespeople.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Summary and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Own achievement of Marquee Objectives & Key Results with respect to distribution - both usage and monetization - of Risk Calculation, Structuring, and Portfolio Analytic services for institutional investors in the Americas, including client segmentation and engagement sequencing.

  • Develop marketing materials, training curricula, and other collateral across media types for engaging clients and mobilizing distribution partners, in collaboration with product managers, sales strategists, heads of sales, and marketing team.

  • Negotiate pricing terms for services within the established pricing framework, in collaboration with major stakeholders

  • Manage the sales pipeline and onboarding workflow for new Americas clients consuming new products, in collaboration with the Client Services, Onboarding, and Support teams

  • Capture, distill, and communicate client/prospect user experience feedback, as well as competitive landscape intelligence to major stakeholders. Collaborate with Marquee Strats and Risk/Analytics PMs to identify and prioritize new product development.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 5 years of sales experience with direct revenue production responsibility, of which >3 years selling risk analytics for direct payment (as opposed to an included component of other services)


  • Conversant in risk analytics, portfolio construction, derivative structuring, and financial modeling, ideally in multiple asset classes

  • Excellent organization and communication skills

  • Track record of thinking strategically, prioritizing effectively, and executing commercially under pressure

  • Team player effective at mobilizing collaboration across levels of seniority and beyond direct reporting lines

  • Programming or modeling experience would be helpful, Python best of all

The Legal Department is looking for an attorney with financial services technology expertise and experience, to be part of the Technology, Intellectual Property and Contracts team tasked with advising, counseling, structuring and negotiating technology and intellectual property-related transactions and contracts. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the firm, primarily relating to the firm's sales and trading applications and platforms, including the Marquee platform, our global digital storefront that offers financial data and risk analytics, software programming tools and content across asset classes to our clients within the Securities Division. This role is an opportunity to work with a fast-growing, innovative business within a long-established, market-leading investment bank. This role will also interact closely with colleagues throughout the firm's legal and compliance functions in order to provide legal support in connection with the development of new products and services to be delivered to clients and to provide subject matter expertise on a wide range of partnerships and transactions relating to the platform. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide general advice and counsel on financial services related technology and intellectual property-related transactions with a focus on market data and data services offered by financial services institutions; licensing; counseling on digital strategy concerns including open source licensing, data security, data use and privacy issues; hosting, cloud computing and software services agreements; internet exchanges and marketplaces; internet advertising and sponsorship agreements. * Assist senior leadership of the legal department in developing, documenting and implementing contractual protections, processes and policies to effect compliance with the evolving legal and regulatory environment related to the consumption and sale of data and financial products on digital platform. * Instruct/work with / manage external counsel and consultants. * Work closely with business clients and Legal and Compliance colleagues in dealing with and responding to various regulatory questions and inquiries. * Opportunity to work with subject matter expert lawyers regarding the structuring, negotiation and execution of complex transactions.
