JOB SUMMARY
Williamson County's Risk Management team is located in the General Counsel office under the overall direction of the General Counsel. This position reports directly to the Risk Program Manager and provides support to the Risk Program regarding many aspects of the County insurance programs while maintaining strict confidentiality.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Assists Risk Program Manager with coordination of safety and training projects
Assists in insurance carrier turnover and implementation of new programs
Assists with Risk and Safety Awareness events
Performs overall administrative support to the General Counsel office
Performs other duties as assigned
Auto and Property Specialist Assignment
Handles claims/incidents
Communicates regularly with County departments and elected offices regarding incident/claim status
Communicates regularly with claimants and other members of the public
Claim/incident management: consistent and accurate collection of data and documents, schedule appraisers, subrogation, timely monitoring and follow up, supplemental payments, adjuster communication, payment processing/tracking and resolution
Participates in the development, implementation, and performance/functionality of electronic forms
Tracks vehicle and equipment inventory including the disposition of insured assets for insurance schedule
Conducts detailed research and compiles reliable data to assists with special projects related to risk control
Processes invoices for broker and TPA
Compiles risk data and basic analysis for presentation to the Risk Committee, Commissioners Court, and others as directed
Oversees the Risk Management SharePoint site
Assists Risk Program Manager with research and data compilation for recommended best practices and policy development
Insurance Certificate and Risk Data Specialist Assignment
Receives certificates of insurance and/or bonds from vendors prior to contract approval on the Court Agenda; reviews for adequate coverage and named insured
Requests and reviews new certificates of insurance (COI) when certificate expires but contract is still in place
Validates data from data collection systems; Works though and corrects errors and bugs
Compiles statistics and publishes reports for County department heads and supervisors in order to promote observance of safe practices, to promote safety programs and to ensure compliance with regular and industry standards
Markets the goals of risk management through a newsletter, posters, virtual events, and trainings
Assists with office management, such as ordering supplies and reconciling purchasing card invoices
Works as a Risk Champion to create awareness of how Risk Management protects staff and assets to facilitate trust in the services provided
Suggests practices for policy consideration

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree and three (3) years of work in Risk Management or an administrative office setting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two (2) years of customer service experience
Experience with complex software systems and reporting processes
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Directly related Risk Management experience
Claims processing experience
Financial processing and/or reporting experience
Intermediate/Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Data analysis experience
Risk Management certification
