Risk Analyst - Regulatory Reporting

Overview:

The Risk Analyst will support, and report, to the Segment Risk Manager responsible for Regulatory Reporting Risk Oversight ("RRRO") segment. The RRRO team is responsible for providing oversight, effective challenge, and governance over FED and FDIC Regulatory Reporting. The role's primary responsibility is to participate in a comprehensive oversight program for the Bank's Regulatory Reporting. Interacting with the Finance, Financial Data Governance, and line of business participants to ensure compliance with the requirements and maintenance of a successful and vibrant program.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support RRRO in conducting BAU monitoring of regulatory reporting risk. Participate in annual process assessments (PA) and periodic challenge reviews (CR) and assist in establishing findings as a result of PAs and CRs when regulatory or best-practice gaps exist, as uncovered through the PA and CR frameworks.

• Communicate findings with RRRO management and team members.

• Develop knowledge on standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the risk analytics field.

• Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

• Maintain M&T internal control standards and support implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

• Complete other related duties as assigned

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position will interact with various lines of business and support areas, including Finance and Audit to manage risk throughout the bank. The Risk Analyst must be a self-starter with a willingness to take on any task within Risk Management to further the Department's oversight role. This position has visibility from senior and executive members of the Risk Division. Incumbent must be willing to work independently as well as within a team environment and, at times, under tight deadlines with limited information.

Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years related business line experience,

OR in lieu of a degree, A combined minimum of 6 years higher education and/or work experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

BA with outstanding academic credentials. One to two years work experience, preferably in Banking or other financial services companies. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Superior interpersonal and leadership talent and ambition. Advanced analytical abilities.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $70,023.60 - $116,706.01 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
