About the role
We are looking for a risk analyst. Your hats will include being a risk policymaker, risk data scientist, risk strategist, and risk technologist; you'll do many hard, interesting and technical risk-related things. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about building technology to solve risk problems systematically, have strong experience doing analytical risk work, and have a growth mindset. This is a highly cross-functional role with lots of exposure to Parker's co-founders and C-Suite.
What you'll do
You are the go-to resource for analytical risk-related work; expect this to be about 80% credit, and 20% fraud, KYB, servicing, compliance, unit economics, and capital markets related
Collaborate with underwriting and risk operations to create sound risk policy; this role will be about 50% analytics and policy creation, 30% system improvements, and 20% modeling, but this will change over time
Autonomously find gaps in risk systems, determine how to solve them, and drive solutions to completion
Partner with engineering and product to build a scalable risk machine
Work with growth and CX to find ways to profitably grow the book, and improve the experience of customers interacting with risk systems & controls
Who you are
Three or more years of experience in analytical roles, with at least one of those years being risk-related; good understanding of commercial credit
Strong SQL skills (non-negotiable)
Growth mindset: you can point to specific ways you've upgraded your skill set each year
You are tenacious; you don't give up on tough problems, and you show this in multiple dimensions of life
Systems-oriented: Your first instinct is to apply systems, logic, code, and automation to unsolved problems
Nice to haves
Good understanding of risk modeling concepts and techniques
Can transform your own data using DBT, and write python code when necessary
Knowledge of financial accounting
Experience communicating complex analysis to executives
Experience at a best-in-class fintech, quantitative hedge fund, or financial institution
Understanding of e-commerce businesses, and/or business credit cards
Compensation
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 USD
