This role is within the Global Analytics team for Commercial Risk Service. We are currently recruiting for a Lead Commercial Risk Analyst to lead Analytics & Tools function. Role requires deriving strategic insights from current processes and data to help build the roadmap for analytical tools for the Commercial Seller Risk organization. This is a high-visibility role which requires interactions with Senior Management as well as working closely with the Commercial Seller Risk teams around the world.

  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining to extract business insight and solve business problem in commercial risk service.

  • Collaborate with multiple team inside risk as well as with business team to understand the needs of risk analysts in the Commercial Seller Risk org.

  • Foster relationship with business partners and external vendors.

  • Develop and manage a framework to enable better merchant risk experience

  • Help maintain and enhance existing tools

  • Design and develop the prototype of new tools for internal usage.

  • Blend the "outside in" and "inside out" approaches to come up with the best solutions

The PayPal Risk Finance team is charged with providing analytical support to PayPal's Controllership and Risk Management organization. We are responsible for forecasting PayPal and its subsidiaries' losses accurately, monitoring emerging trends across various segments globally, and enabling efficient investments by the company. As a member of the Risk Finance transaction loss team, you will work cross functionally within Risk Management and across the PayPal organization to both manage losses and enable PayPal's rapid growth. You will participate in financial modeling and forecasting of transaction losses for PayPal and its subsidiaries like Venmo, Xoom, and Braintree. Key tasks including dealing with transaction level data, loss performance analysis and working closely with various partnering organizations. The individual is expected to: Compile and communicate the monthly transaction loss results and drivers to partners in Finance, Accounting and Risk teams Execute monthly transaction loss forecasts based on transaction loss data using financial models Develop best practice forecasting models for loss provisioning Review financial model performance and implement enhancement where necessary Work with Controllership and Finance teams to successfully manage the internal and external audit review. Required Skills: * Bachelor's in Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Information Systems or closely related quantitative discipline * 5+ years of post-college working experience within a Quantitative Research, Statistical Modeling, Data Analytics or FP&A focus * Creative problem solver, analytic thinker, and ability to learn new and complex concepts quickly Required technical skills: * Financial Modeling, MS Excel (with VBA), SQL and SAS/R Programming Working knowledge of SAP, Tableau, Credit/Transaction Loss Provision We're a purpose-driven company whose beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day.
