Job Overview:

The Riser Engineer isaccountable to provide specialist skills and knowledge in the areas of flexiblepipeline and riser engineering including

KeyResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Perform Installation Analysis for SURF projects using industry standard software.

  • Provide specialist skills and knowledge in the areas related to engineering and analysis including design codes related to Subsea engineering including installation engineering.

  • Coordinate and engage in daily activities and schedule priorities for Subsea Engineering.

  • Tender engineering support with emphasis on document review, preparation of subcontractor documents, CTR preparation, bid evaluation and vendor selection.

  • Support Subsea projects and address various requirements for procurement, design and installation engineering/analysis.

  • Assume responsibility for technical reports, design calculations, engineering analysis and interface with third parties including subcontractors and verification bodies.

  • Required to attend and prepare for project progress meetings and departmental meetings.

  • Experience related to design and analysis of subsea equipment including risers, pipeline, subsea structure and umbilical.

  • Experience with industry standard software packages for design and installation analysis (E.g. Orcaflex, Pipelay, Offpipe, Abaqus).

  • Experience with industry commonly used codes and standards for subsea engineering.

  • Good organization and communication skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet project deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. Mechanical, Marine, Civil, or Structural Engineering.

  • Experience running Orcaflex and running forriser analyses for SCRs and umbilicals.

VIEW JOBS 10/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-27T00:00 JOB TITLE: Riser Analysis Engineer LOCATION: Onshore 1.1 ROLE SUMMARY Overall responsibility is to perform riser analysis based on fleet requests 1.2 JOB SPECIFIC Specific tasks in connection with the role: * Ensure each floater has a riser analysis per well as per company directive requirements * Perform marine drilling riser related engineering analyses * Create & analyse FEA models for Top Tension Risers in accordance with API16Q * Run Drift-off Analysis for semi-submersibles and drillships * Perform Transit Analysis with suspended BOP * Perform Hang-off Analysis * Advise and assist with the creation of Well Specific Operating Guidelines for rigs * Liaise with third party riser/stress analysis provider and be the focal point for the company * Handle rig/customer technical queries regarding riser management 1.3 AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY Responsible for/ensure: * Producing riser analysis per well and transit analysis for move with BOP suspended 1.4 DELIVERABLES * Issuing riser and transit analysis reports * Maintaining tracking sheet of all riser analysis requests 1.5 EXPERIENCE * Candidate should have a min of 2 years performing such analyses and writing reports 1.6 COMPETENCE & QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor Degree within an appropriate technical engineering discipline (Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding/Structural Civil Engineering) * Understand complex business problems, identify business/functional user requirements, and recommend how best to support them through processes and applications. * Well-developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills, comfortable to work in an environment of change, results oriented and resilient, effective at building and maintaining relationships. * Creates innovative, focused and practical long-term plans * Ability to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently * Computer literate and adaptable to the introduction of new software as appropriate * Knowledge of the following: * MathCAD * AutoCAD * Marine Vessel Hydrodynamics * Stability Analysis * Mooring Analysis * Riser Analysis * Strength Assessment * Adaptable and able to work with a wide variety of ship systems and equipment 1.7 REPORTING LINES * Reports to Technical Manager Seadrill Limited Houston TX
