The Riser Engineer isaccountable to provide specialist skills and knowledge in the areas of flexiblepipeline and riser engineering including

KeyResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Perform Installation Analysis for SURF projects using industry standard software.

  • Provide specialist skills and knowledge in the areas related to engineering and analysis including design codes related to Subsea engineering including installation engineering.

  • Coordinate and engage in daily activities and schedule priorities for Subsea Engineering.

  • Tender engineering support with emphasis on document review, preparation of subcontractor documents, CTR preparation, bid evaluation and vendor selection.

  • Support Subsea projects and address various requirements for procurement, design and installation engineering/analysis.

  • Assume responsibility for technical reports, design calculations, engineering analysis and interface with third parties including subcontractors and verification bodies.

  • Required to attend and prepare for project progress meetings and departmental meetings.

  • Experience related to design and analysis of subsea equipment including risers, pipeline, subsea structure and umbilical.

  • Experience with industry standard software packages for design and installation analysis (E.g. Orcaflex, Pipelay, Offpipe, Abaqus).

  • Experience with industry commonly used codes and standards for subsea engineering.

  • Good organization and communication skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet project deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. Mechanical, Marine, Civil, or Structural Engineering.

  • Experience running Orcaflex and running forriser analyses for SCRs and umbilicals.

Role Summary: The Engineer - Mechanical Component demonstrates use of mechanical engineering principles through equipment design, calculations and validation. In this position, the engineer owns mechanical projects / product development scope for surface and subsea drill through components including annular and ram blowout preventers, drilling risers and associated riser equipment following the applicable design and development processes to meet customer requirements and expectations. Essential Responsibilities: * Execute with guidance the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements with oversight from more senior engineers * Design products in accordance with API/ASME/NACE/BSSE standards * Provide technical leadership and coordinate with analysis, material and other engineering groups supporting the assigned project * Provide technical leadership and engineering support cross functionally to supply chain, manufacturing and test/assembly * Interface with customers to determine design requirements * Formulate and implement plans to meet technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments of assigned components and systems * Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues through root cause analysis, non-comformance analysis where appropriate * Participate and present or review in technical and program reviews * Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures * Utilize knowledge of applicable codes and standards including API 16A 3rd and 4th edition, ASME Section 8 and API 16F in daily engineering operations.
