Specialized professional, technical and administrative work overseeing the acquisition, disposition, exchange and conveyance of right-of-ways and easement rights for County projects including the supervision of employees. Supervises subordinate staff in the securing of titles, easements or permits to enter properties, settlement of damage claims, negotiations of right-of-ways, preparation and processing of legal documents for condemnation, and the maintenance of inventories as necessary for the acquisition process.
Reviews agenda items for Board of County Commissioners approval. Represents the Engineering Department on eminent domain matters. Work requires considerable independent judgement and is reviewed by the Director or Assistant Division Director through conferences, reports and evaluation of results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate or related field; minimum of four (4) years of experience in property acquisition/disposition/exchange/conveyance or related title/survey/environmental audit/appraisal reviews.
Equivalencies:
1.Unrelated Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of related experience
2.Related Associate's Degree and six (6) years of related experience
3.Unrelated Associate's Degree and seven (7) years of related experience
4.Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and eight (8) years of related experience.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN/WITH: Florida eminent domain process; right-of-way acquisition for a governmental agency; preparing deeds, easements, affidavits, subordination agreements, and/or partial releases of mortgaged premises; reading and understanding engineering construction plans; working for a municipal governmental agency/Department of Transportation (DOT).
Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
