The Crane Operator/Rigger is responsible for operating a variety of heavy, specialized lifting equipment. Uses cranes, riggers and operators to lift and transport large and heavy loads, such as equipment and/or materials; without damaging the load they're moving, property or personnel. Crane Operators/Riggers operate under strict company quality, safety, environmental, health regulations and policies.
Operates crawler cranes, lattice boom cranes, barge mounted friction cranes, rough terrain cranes, forklifts, loaders and hydraulic cranes of various sizes.
Installs and removes tow cables as needed.
Performs routine maintenance on all cranes and equipment.
Complete paperwork at the end of a shift, documenting work that was preformed and any problems encountered.
Responsible for dismantling, cleaning and storing equipment after use.
Knowledge on how to properly and safely use rigging signals and equipment.
Basic math skills and good judgment to help identify and solve problems.
Sit for long periods of time.
Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) years of related experience and/or training - preferred.
Two (2) years of experience working in a marine or shipyard environment, will consider heavy industrial/construction experience in lieu of marine or shipyard - preferred.
Rigging Certification is a plus.
NCCCO Certification desired.
