The Credit Card Optimization Analyst ("CCOA") is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of Reseller Financial Services ("RFS") global credit card acceptance to ensure an excellent customer experience in Canada and the United States, Europe, and Latin America. The CCOA is responsible for analyzing current vendor contracts, enhancements of processes and procedures, and reporting to help support the worldwide RFS team. The CCOA oversees the management of credit card operations including: vendor relationships, system enhancements, data extraction and analysis for management and reporting purposes, and enrichment of business processes. The individual will be responsible for maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with ScanSource, Inc.'s ("ScanSource") guidelines and procedures, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards ("PCI DSS"), and commercial credit laws. This highly motivated individual must be able to multi-task, implementing change while having a positive impact on the team.
Essential Job Duties:
Establish and maintain positive, balanced relationships with both internal and external customers and partners by responding quickly and effectively to requests and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Maintains vendor relationships to gather industry and competitive information to understand trends and best practices. Engage with customers and sales to understand challenges and implement credit card payment solutions.
Credit Card Operations Management
Responsibilities include the administration, coordination and management of routine and ad hoc operational activities.
Act as the subject matter expert for the credit card transaction life cycle from presentment to settlement, serve as the corporate compliance subject matter expert to the credit card line of business, and assist team members in resolving matters related to credit card refunds and chargebacks.
Analyze ScanSource's credit card transaction flow and implement changes as necessary to enhance process efficiencies and optimize pricing.
Review and provide business requirements for system design, process flow, and solutions for credit card processing.
Business Process Efficiencies
Responsibilities include assisting with the development and implementation of continuous process improvements to promote efficiencies and improve customer experience.
Design and implement credit card policies and procedures to ensure ScanSource is compliant with local and regional credit card guidelines in adherence to PCI DSS and internal controls.
Rethink, redesign, and implement business processes to ensure timely order processing and achieve improvements in service, quality, speed, and cost.
Analyze the cost effectiveness of current and future financial vendor relationships relative to the benefits provided.
Research, recommend, and execute technology improvements to drive productivity.
Responsibilities include the administration and coordination of scheduled and as-needed credit card reporting.
Prepare reports to measure and benchmark worldwide credit card sales and interchange and processing fees.
Manage the merchant account relationships (i.e., credit card processors, gateways, and third party intermediaries) and prepare and analyze monthly merchant account expense to optimize rates.
Other ad hoc reports as needed.
Responsibilities include working to understand the customer's business needs and collaborating with the ScanSource team and customer to develop relationships and implement underwriting solutions.
Monitor and approve pending orders within the underwriting authority guidelines.
Analyze creditworthiness of customers to optimize sales opportunities and approve aggregate credit extension within approval authority and/or obtain approval from the appropriate authority level as needed.
Understand customers' financing needs and utilize resources available from ScanSource and third party financial vendors to expand purchasing power.
Ensure a high degree of accuracy, consistency, confidentiality and timeliness when analyzing financial statements, writing a financial review and completing RFS forms.
Communicate directly with new and existing customers in establishing, negotiating and adhering to aggregate credit extension and payment terms.
Coordinate activities with available resources (e.g., Collateral Specialist, Account Recovery Coordinator, Sales) to mitigate risk and enhance sale opportunities.
Oversee and prepare customer financial reviews in accordance with RFS guidelines and procedures.
Compile and evaluate data for credit/financial benchmarking, credit/financial score validation and constant reporting.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in matters concerning customers' financial condition and business practice.

The position will report to the Manager, Risk & Operational Efficiency in Reseller Financial Services. Internal contacts include all business, support, and administrative units of ScanSource. External contacts include senior and mid-level customer personnel and business partners.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and four years working experience within a credit and financial management environment with experience in payment processing and credit card processing is required.
Understanding of credit and financial analysis. An advanced skill level in reporting is required
Proficiency in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, SAP) and the ability to learn enterprise resource planning applications.
Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel, financial underwriting and customer relationship management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate well to all levels of management.

Experience in the payment or merchant service industry with a strong understanding of a credit card transactional life cycle.
Working with process improvement methodologies (i.e. Sig Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies)
Experience in other programming languages or reporting platforms (i.e., C++, HTML, Java Script, SQL Server, Tableau)
Proficiency in a foreign language (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German)
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for long periods of time.
Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for this position.
