Wafer-level production testing of filters for Cellular, Satellite Radio, Digital TV, and other RF Products as well as infrastructure and fast-responder applications is performed over various frequencies and temperatures, generating massive amounts of raw data with hundreds of critical parameters subject to the effects of high-volume wafer processing, sensitivities to process variation, and dependencies of test calibration procedures. This makes RF filter performance testing extremely challenging. The primary design tool for acoustic design engineers is the acoustics model available in design kits primarily within National Instruments' AWR Microwave Office software, and the primary source of the models in AWR is from RF data taken on acoustic devices and analyzed for acoustic COM model extraction. COM model parameters are typically extracted from small-signal s-parameter measurements. The goals of this project are to setup and implement extraction of COM model parameters over power, frequency, and temperature, implement an empirically-generated large-signal model similarly developed for large signal transistor models, verify the models against large-signal product level data, and finally to distribute and receive feedback from designers and product engineers.
Train to become an expert with s-parameter measurements, from software using C++, MATLAB, C#, JMP, and WinCAl, to electronic test equipment using pc, microscopes, probes, Electroglas and FormFactor probe station, and network analyzer, to data analysis using C++, Matlab, C#, and JMP statistical software.
Work professionally & closely with Test Technicians & Test Engineers to be trained on software, equipment, and analysis, then with R&D Acoustics Engineer, Test Engineers, & Design Engineers, planning and executing in accurate and timely way on system once trained to operate.
Well organized at documentation using MS OneNote for records and notes, MS PowerPoint for well-thought-out presentations, and MS Word for procedures and records.
BS in CE preferred, or EE, or CS MS acceptable, with some class work and/or experience with C, C++, or C# language and Matlab mandatory, with JMP or other statistical languages & tools beneficial.
Programming, test, system design experience necessary with some statistical data analysis beneficial.
Group oriented projects and work environment demonstrated.
Because this is a student internship, candidate must be a currently enrolled student in a degree-seeking accredited program.
