DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in a collaborative and energetic engineering team environment to design RF based systems for human spaceflight.
Develop requirements and test plans for design.
Perform trade studies for technical solutions, including make/buy recommendations.
Develop documentation that supports analysis and design reviews.
Interface, communicate, and drive decisions with cross discipline teams.
Resolve problems encountered in testing and verification processes.
Familiar with designing for a radiation tolerant environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.

This work involves the software development related to radio frequency (RF) infrastructure whereby the individual will:
Develop, debug, test, and verification work of embedded software applications for Wi-Fi and/or UHF radios.
Have knowledge of RF, signals & systems, modulation/demodulation, sampling, filtering design
Possess strong software skills across multiple languages
Use general lab equipment and RF equipment such as VNA , Spectrum Analyzer, Power Detectors
Be self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills
Possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise
Be open to new challenges in a dynamic environment
Possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills
Bonus Qualifications
Digital signal processing such as reed-Solomon, Vertibi encoding decoding, convolutional encoding.
Crypto experience i.e. AES
Knowledge of 802.11n/ac/ax protocols
Experience using NASA's Core Flight Software (CFS) or equivalent frameworks.
Experience integrating Flight Software in real time environments.
Experience with Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software development process.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical/computer, software engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or related disciplines required
Experience with C/C++ language
Experience with Object-Oriented-Programming (OOP)
Experience with Unix/Linux or VxWorks Operating Systems
Experience with developing real time software applications
Essential Functions
Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
