As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines. In this role, you'll keep an innovative engineering team firing on all cylinders. You will work closely with hardware and software engineers, product managers, Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs), and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to get high-quality products built, tested and released on time. You'll coordinate many fast-changing, moving parts and still get them to come together as a product. You'll need excellent communication skills in order to act as the central point-of-contact for all questions about schedules, quality, and progress updates. You'll also be responsible for identifying and managing risks, making sound judgments about quality, and stopping (or speeding up) production at the right time. Goal is to ensure NPI HW is thoroughly tested and issues are identified, tracked, and resolved. * Work across the organization to identify and resolve validation blockers. Be the driving force for teams to remove testing dependencies and provide/escalate help if needed. * Create and manage schedules for system validation during hardware NPI development builds. Work with cross functional EPMs (EE, PD, Modules) on design/tooling locks and incorporate validation feedback before next HW release. * Synthesize large amounts of data into a clear story and communicate to key stakeholders across all levels of the organization. * For platform development support, create and manage hardware development schedules for the main logic board and flexes.
