Qualcomm's RF Product Development and Test Engineering group develops bench and ATE test solutions for design verification of highly integrated RF, mm-Wave receivers/transmitters/transceivers, RF, analog and mixed signal ASICs designed by Qualcomm Technologies Inc. We are looking for mmW and RF Product and Bench Test Engineers to develop test solutions for highly integrated mobile mm-Wave/RF receivers, transmitters, transceivers In this role you will participate in design verification and characterization and development of Bench Test solutions used for highly integrated mm-Wave and RF receivers, transmitters, transceivers, low noise amplifiers, and power amplifiers.
Responsibilities for this position include bench test system planning, SW development, test methodology development and integration, design and debug of test interface HW, HW/SW integration, and test instrument integration. You will work closely with IC design engineers, RF systems engineers, and product and test engineers in defining requirements for the bench test system development. Preferred Qualifications Prefer Masters in Electrical Engineering. Focus / course work in Radio Frequency (RF), mm-Wave design and testing.
Developing test solutions for mmW/RF devices. Test programming skills and RF testing fundamentals, including OTA solutions. Working with test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, power meters, arbitrary waveform generators, network analyzer, etc). Knowledge of transmission line theory and antennas. Knowledge of general RF measurements (ie IP3, NF, EVM, ACPR, S-parameters, VSWR, RxBN, Spectral Emissions, etc). *Measurements necessary to characterize an RF device.
*Common test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, time interval analyzer, logic analyzer, network analyzer, etc.). *Experience with modifying LabVIEW test software.
*Knowledge in RF-PCB design including CAD interface.
*Test board design, debug, and development. Experience in RF test methodology development and implementation using LabVIEW/TestStand or Matlab.
Requires a thorough foundation of electronic theory with the ability to understand circuit functions with minimal help. Ability to work from and understand electrical schematics to debug hardware issues. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
Knowledge of the measurements necessary to characterize a RF and/or mmW/RF device through theoretical and practical application. Strong functional understanding and working knowledge of test equipment (i.e.- power supplies, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power meters, vector network analyzer). Ability to communicate clearly, organize effectively and document work thoroughly. Solid understanding of RF principles, RF engineering tools.
Strong computer skills including programming languages. (C++/VB preferred) Familiar with ATE testers (93k and UFLEX preferred) Familiar with lab equipment (o-scope, power meter, vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator). Statistical Analysis tools (Datapower, JMP, Sedana, Excel) Strong written and verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure to meet product introduction schedules. Solid understanding of RF principles, RF engineering tools.
