We are currently seeking one (1) engineering Co-op. Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
We are seeking smart, entrepreneurial student to join our team to solve the world's greatest engineering challenges. Each student entering our paid program is connected with an experienced Parker engineering mentor and tasked with creating a new design or product or improving the performance of a commercialized product or production process. During the program, students will have the opportunity to work in Parker Chomerics' state-of-the-art facilities, gain hands-on development and production experience using lean and Black Belt Six Sigma quality methodologies.
Each co-op leaves Chomerics with strong connections, a completed project and polished presentation highlighting their results, and return to school with real-work experience utilizing the tools of engineering success.
1.Perform material testing and analysis using state of the art Network Analyzers, Signal Generators and Spectrum Analyzers in the frequency range of 1MHz to 110GHz.
2.Analyze microwave absorber materials from test data including Permeability, Permittivity, Loss Tangent and Dielectric Constant. Learns to apply methods, measurements, and techniques for continuous improvement.
3.Create Test Procedures for material testing performed on RF shielding, absorbing and RF reflectivity tests.
4.Actively acquire on-the-job training and knowledge of specialized technical or engineering principles and techniques required for Parker materials/products.
5.Performs a variety of routine technical assignments to provide experience and familiarization with the technical or engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs of the company.
6.The candidate will gain experience with six sigma statistical process control fundamentals including, but not limited to, process mapping, Failure Mode Element Analysis (FMEA), measurement system evaluation, gage R&R, Design of Experiments (DOE), and control plans. Knowledge of Minitab software will be gained.
7.Assists cross-functional team members to accomplish their project assignments by completing specific analysis or well-defined portions of the overall assignment. Learns project management techniques and participates in design or similar program reviews.
8.Attends internal R&D meetings related to work assignments.
9.Interact with other Co-op at Parker over the same period for similar and/or related projects.
10. Other duties as assigned.
1.Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
2.Currently enrolled in, or completed degree in related field, such as: Electrical Engineering or Physics.
3.Fundamental understanding of materials testing.
4.Fundamental understanding of statistical analysis. Ability to work effectively in a variety of engineering assignments.
5.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
6.Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
7.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
