Job Duties and Responsibilities

DISH is building one of the first nationwide greenfield wireless networks that the industry has seen in years. We are building a team of Field Engineers to support this effort. The RF Field & Optimization Engineer is responsible for implementing the NB-IOT Radio Frequency system design and for maintaining NB-IOT radio system's performance. This position can accommodate working remotely.

WE ARE LOOKING TO HIRE SEVERAL ENGINEERS IN VARIOUS CITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY!

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Performs system coverage and capacity drive tests and recommends site and system parameter settings to best optimize the systems' coverage, performance, and capacity.

  • Serves as a deployment region's technical subject matter expert on RF deployment matters.

  • Audits testing methodology used by DISH's civil construction firms to ensure accuracy on PIM or VSWR sweep test results of antenna systems.

  • May require up to 40% of domestic overnight travel and occasional trips to the Englewood Colorado Headquarters.

  • Works with the operations team to troubleshoot site network problems.

  • Reviews fault or performance data to assist with determining cause of faulty equipment.

  • Updates trouble ticketing databases with resolution or actions taken.

Skills - Experience and Requirements

The Successful Field Engineer will have:

  • 3+ years working in and around the radio frequency industry designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting network issues

  • 3+ years of experience with various drive test units

  • 3+ years of experience analyzing data and creating coverage solutions

  • Solid understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory

  • The ability to travel and quite possibly even relocate in the US

  • Proficient MapInfo or similar tools and cellular industry-specific tools such as Atoll, Siterra, Site Tracker or equivalent tools

  • The ability to work independently is critical, must be able to work under pressure and prioritize work schedule and workload

Job Duties and Responsibilities DISH Technologies, in Englewood, CO, is looking for a RF/OEM Hardware Engineer who will be responsible for RF and electrical engineering designs employed in OEM sourced products including LNBF's, satellite antennas, and satellite distribution equipment, remote controls, and wireless equipment. Responsibilities: * RF and electrical engineering designs employed in Dish Technologies for satellite LNBFs, antennas and remote controls used by Dish network * Responsible for specifications, fabricate, troubleshoot, and test prototypes, product performance validation, and technical approval for mass production * Use and apply RF, Digital, Power, and Analog principles and design techniques * The engineer will interact directly with technology partners through normal business communications, product design reviews, trade shows, or other functions as warranted * Ability to work in a team environment with multiple teams and challenging schedules * Travel domestically and internationally in order to support product development #LI-LL1 Skills - Experience and Requirements The ideal RF/OEM Engineer will have: * 5 years in RF and electrical design from component level through system level, including development of device and system level test procedures * BSEE degree and 5 years of RF testing experience, or Masters and 3 years of RF testing experience, or comparable amount of education and experience * The ability to read and interpret schematics, efficiently utilize RF test equipment, performing documentation tasks, and successfully interact with management & engineers Preferred Qualifications: * Use of automated test environments such as LabVIEW to support RF testing * Must be flexible, innovative and have the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment * Familiar with consumer electronics design process and cycle times * Working knowledge 802.11 WiFi, Bluetooth, RF4CE, and other related wireless standards * RF and electrical engineering designs devices involving 3GPP 4G and 5G radios including NB-IOT Dish Network Corporation Englewood CO
