Innovative Air, Inc. is seeking an experienced Revit/AutoCAD Drafter for a full-time position. The successful candidate will work primarily with a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in conjunction with design and estimating staff to create Revit/AutoCAD drawings and models for HVAC and Plumbing design projects.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Work with Project Managers and Engineers to generate drawings and details in REVIT/AutoCAD for building design documents to be used for plan review submittal and installation of mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing systems.

  • Complete basic HVAC ductwork and/or plumbing piping designs and drawings with Engineer's and designer's guidance. Clearly convert and develop Mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing plans and layouts into appropriate digital formats for distribution to design team members, including architects, and other engineers, design professionals, and contractors.

  • Assist in interpretation of drawings and technical specifications.

  • Visit job sites as required to facilitate design and generation of required technical documents.

  • Work with limited supervision to complete project tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

  • Communicate directly with architects, engineers, general contractors and other subcontractors via email, video conferencing, by phone or in-person to coordinate specific project tasks, resolve project issues and request necessary information required for successful project completion.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years Drafting experience.

  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Self-motivation and a desire to learn the required aspects of mechanical engineering as it relates to HVAC & Plumbing design.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PDF editing programs such as Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills and aptitude.

  • Ability to read and understand architectural and technical plans, specifications, details, and equipment submittal documents.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-pasted work environment and meet consistently meet tight project deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Technical Drafting degree.

  • 2+ years of experience drafting HVAC and Plumbing systems.

  • Experience with additional Autodesk software:

  • Navisworks

  • Fabrication CAMduct

  • Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC Systems and products.

  • Working Knowledge of latest Oregon Specialty Building Codes (OMSC, OPSC, OSSC)

  • Desire to grow and advance to higher levels of the profession, including designer and project manager positions.

The successful candidate will be an experienced CAD professional who can coordinate multiple concurrent projects and manage a well-balanced team of skilled drafters. This is an immediate full-time opportunity in our Lake Oswego office.</p><p>In this role you will be responsible for:</p><ul><li><p>Leveraging new CAD technologies</p></li><li><p>Joining other high performers who possess a quality-first mindset</p></li><li><p>Overseeing plan production for impactful transportation projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.</p></li></ul><p>The successful candidate will have advanced levels of CAD proficiency using Civil 3D and Microstation, as well as have experience delivering ODOT projects, ability to shift quickly between CAD standards for different clients and help the team maximize the efficiency afforded by state-of-the-art CAD software.</p><p>The manager is responsible for managing the production of all CAD deliverables and ensuring that the CAD group is properly resourced and adequately skilled to meet the drafting needs of the Practice Area. As the manager of the CAD department, this position will report to a Sub-Practice Area Leader within the Practice Area. The position is expected to be highly-utilized, performing CAD work on billable projects for the majority of their work time.</p><p>The manager is expected to exercise strong leadership, coordination, organization, and technical skills and will be responsible for ensuring that the CAD group consistently produces high quality, efficient, and on-time deliverables. A successful manager will work well with others, serve as a liaison between the CAD group and DOWL's technical design staff, and coach and mentor CAD staff.</p><p>Requirements/Minimum Qualifications</p><p>Education and/or Experience:</p><p>This position requires the candidate to have an Associates' (2-year) degree in computer-aided drafting, or a related field. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, management, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 8 years of professional drafting experience is required.
