Innovative Air, Inc. is seeking an experienced Revit/AutoCAD Drafter for a full-time position. The successful candidate will work primarily with a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in conjunction with design and estimating staff to create Revit/AutoCAD drawings and models for HVAC and Plumbing design projects.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Work with Project Managers and Engineers to generate drawings and details in REVIT/AutoCAD for building design documents to be used for plan review submittal and installation of mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing systems.

  • Complete basic HVAC ductwork and/or plumbing piping designs and drawings with Engineer's and designer's guidance. Clearly convert and develop Mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing plans and layouts into appropriate digital formats for distribution to design team members, including architects, and other engineers, design professionals, and contractors.

  • Assist in interpretation of drawings and technical specifications.

  • Visit job sites as required to facilitate design and generation of required technical documents.

  • Work with limited supervision to complete project tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

  • Communicate directly with architects, engineers, general contractors and other subcontractors via email, video conferencing, by phone or in-person to coordinate specific project tasks, resolve project issues and request necessary information required for successful project completion.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years Drafting experience.

  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Self-motivation and a desire to learn the required aspects of mechanical engineering as it relates to HVAC & Plumbing design.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PDF editing programs such as Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills and aptitude.

  • Ability to read and understand architectural and technical plans, specifications, details, and equipment submittal documents.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-pasted work environment and meet consistently meet tight project deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Technical Drafting degree.

  • 2+ years of experience drafting HVAC and Plumbing systems.

  • Experience with additional Autodesk software:

  • Navisworks

  • Fabrication CAMduct

  • Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC Systems and products.

  • Working Knowledge of latest Oregon Specialty Building Codes (OMSC, OPSC, OSSC)

  • Desire to grow and advance to higher levels of the profession, including designer and project manager positions.

However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business and deadline needs. Hours more than 40 per calendar week will be compensated at a rate of 1.5 the hourly rate.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Design of HVAC and Plumbing systems including load calculations, equipment selection, system layout and sizing utilizing computerized design tools including Autodesk Revit and AutoCad. programs, with assistance from designers and drafters for completed documents for Plan Review submittal and construction.</p></li><li><p>Ability to fully prepare construction documents through the various phases of design (conceptual, schematic, design development, construction).</p></li><li><p>Provide guidance to designers and drafting personnel.</p></li><li><p>Specification writing utilizing third party data-based programs (i.e., BSD SpecLink) for inclusion in Construction Documents as warranted and applicable.</p></li><li><p>Ability to prepare project proposals and scope of work documents.</p></li><li><p>Interfacing with clients, architects, other design disciplines and trades via in person or remote meetings to coordinate project design requirements.</p></li><li><p>On-site investigations and construction site visits as required to determine specific project requirements.</p></li><li><p>Addressing jurisdiction design review comments to procure building permits as needed.</p></li><li><p>Review of equipment submittals for contractor installation.</p></li><li><p>Construction Administration including preparing supplemental instructions (ASI's), and responding to requests for information (RFI's) and Project Closeout documents.</p></li><li><p>Review of as-installed contractor markups and generation of Record Drawing sets of documents for projects as needed.</p></li></ul><p>The job description and responsibilities described are intended to provide guidelines for job expectations and the employee's ability to perform the position described.
