An international law firm with offices in Washington, D.C. is seeking a full-time Revenue Manager to join their team. This person will be responsible for managing and coordinating the collections functions of the Firm by maximizing the cash collections and reporting on the accounts receivable status of all firm-wide client accounts.


  • Providing monthly reporting to Firm Management on significant outstanding accounts receivable
  • nalyzing accounts and reporting to Firm Management on the highest risk accounts as well as providing resolution recommendations;
  • Preparing monthly collection projections working with IT to update, monitor and report on the year-end collection database
  • Following up with attorneys to ensure their projections have been entered in the database and that their collections targets are being met
  • Training the Client Account Specialists on their collections responsibilities.


  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required.
  • 5+ years of dedicated specialized collections or account management and supervisory experience.
  • Hands-on experience performing complex accounting analysis.
  • Law Firm or professional services background preferred.
  • Talent for delivering client service through teamwork, training and mentoring.
  • Ability to exchange information and to present ideas, report facts and other information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large amounts of paper and electronic data.
  • Ability to organize time, prioritize workload and oversee a high volume of work.

This is a manager position who, under the supervision of the Deputy Controller, performs duties associated with revenue recognition and invoicing operations; ensures that proper revenue procedures are followed per ASC 606 standard and proper invoicing procedures are followed by finance and project management staff; and serves as acting director as required. This position is also subject to special duties and assignments as designated by the supervisor. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include: * Prepare policies and procedures around ASC 606 and client invoicing * Review all contracts to determine revenue recognition approach per ASC 606 standard * Keep up-to-date tracking tool to reflect contracts population * Participate in design and maintain MS Excel or other application-based revenue recognition tool * Define fee allocation approach and review project progress to determine and recognize fee earned when each performance obligations are satisfied * Coordinate with PMUs and the invoicing team to ensure that all deliverable based contracts are invoiced per the term of the contract * Prepare revenue recognition disclosures and assist with annual disclosure statements * Review the project set-up of new contracts in the accounting system with the PMU and invoicing team and apply appropriate revenue recognition approach * Review all ended contracts and ensure appropriate recognition and fees invoicing * Coordinate fixed priced contract closing with the contract closeout team * Oversee monthly invoicing process, including creating, reviewing and submitting monthly invoices, providing Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Customer Service over the invoicing process, and ensuring that deadlines are met, and tasks are completed * Work with invoicing managers on corporate and incurred cost audit requests * Coordinates with other units to collect information, analyze data and prepare monthly report * Undertake assignments on projects or special initiatives, as required * Takes direct, appropriate, and timely action to meet client needs and resolve basic issues * Facilitates meetings and is responsible for developing agendas to achieve stated group goals, documenting progress, agreements, and issues and providing follow up assistance to groups * Performs other duties and responsibilities as required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in job relevant field required * Minimum 3 years of job-related experience (performing client invoicing, revenue recognition, incurred cost submissions and government contracting). * Prior accounting or accounts payable experience required. * Familiarity with FAR, AIDAR, CASB regulations relevant to U.S. government audits strongly preferred * US GAAP knowledge required * Experience working with USAID, DFID and OTI contracts is preferred * CPA designation preferred * Experience with or Microsoft SL and/or Dynamics 365 for Operations is preferred * Demonstrated ability to learn and operate new accounting systems * Strong knowledge of MS Office applications * Ability to solve technical, managerial or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge. (problem solving and analytical skills) * Strong communications skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Strong organizational skills, work prioritization skills and attention to detail * Demonstrated independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others * Strong administrative skills and word processing abilities * Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices (processes) and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results * Knowledge of company's main clients and its operations preferred. * Experience living or working in developing countries preferred * Supervisory experience preferred * Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity Application Instructions: Apply through our Career Center at by November 25, 2018.
