QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology preferred.

Training and Experience: Must be able to accurately type 25-30 words per minute and Pass a clerical examination. After training, must pass internal examinations to demonstrate mastery of Patient Access Services computer applications. Must exhibit competency with Microsoft Office applications. Previous experience in hospital admissions, business office and/or physician's office preferred.

Job Knowledge:
After training, must pass internal certification examinations to demonstrate understanding of Patient Access Services overall competencies.

DESCRIPTION:

The Revenue Integrity Analyst (RIA) can perform all Patient Financial Services (PFS) functions including but not limited to those outlined below.

The responsibilities of this position includes performing audits of the work of new and current employees within Unity Health access management departments of including all Patient Access Services general competencies and uses of the CPSI and PFS applications. The RIA utilizes automated quality assurance reports, and denial information to develop and distribute quality assurance "Report Cards" for PFS personnel. Provides quality assurance trending reports by shift and work area. Meets Team Leads and Supervisors to discuss employee performance. Acts as a role model in the area of professional maturity and performance standards.

A Revenue Integrity Analyst is fully competent in all of the PFS functions that they audit. This employee is internally certified in all general functional areas for PFS Representatives which include:

  • Guest Services

  • Up-Front Collections

  • Emergency Dept Registration

  • Outpatient Registration

  • Outpt Surgery & Special Procedure Reg

  • Information Desk

  • Inpatient & Observation Processing

  • Insurance Verification

  • Bed Control

  • Census Reconciliation

  • Hospital Cashiering

  • Patient Scheduling

  • Government Payer Billing

  • Commercial Payer Billing

  • Worker's Compensation Billing

  • Automobile Payer Billing

  • Government Payer Follow-up Collections

  • Commercial Payer Follow-up Collections

  • Worker's Compensation Follow-up Collections

  • Automobile Payer Follow-up Collections

  • Adjustment Processing

  • Cash Posting

  • Document Imaging

  • Cash Preparation

  • Hospital Cashiering

  • Credit Balance Processing
