Job Description:

As the Supervisor of Access Services you will supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations to ensure proper registration, and cashiering activities and provide staff with the necessary resources to perform their work.

Responsibilities' Include:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations to ensure proper flow of registration, billing and collection activities.

  • Supervises and evaluates the performance of staff.

  • Acts as resource person for resolution of complex registration situations.

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to facilitate and maximize efficiency in operations.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of various scheduling, registration, insurance verification and payment processing programs.

  • Works with other administrative, clinical and/or practice areas to coordinate, registration, charge accumulation and cashiering.

  • Prepares and monitors statistical, quality improvement and budgetary reports.

  • Prepares requests for purchase of supplies, equipment, check requests and petty cash vouchers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Knowledge of Management, Computerized Systems, and Third Party Reimbursement as normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Health Care, Business or Public Administration.

  • Minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible related work experience to ensure familiarity with registration and cashiering in a medical or hospital setting, required. Prior supervisory experience, required.

  • Knowledge of outpatient operations, required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills needed to facilitate encounters with patients, staff, nurses, physicians, etc. Ability to handle many situations simultaneously and to exercise sound judgment. Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet software, required.

Roles & Responsibilities: * Maintain CDM (Charge Description Master) and/or other pertinent regulations and policies, ensuring all data elements are accurate and comply with all payor and regulatory requirements * Review and interpret various regulatory billing and coding updates, to remain compliant and accurate to minimize misbillings * Resolve issues that arise from information submitted and revenue cycle issues * Provide validation reviews, audits, documentation and training for the area of knowledge, sharing information with Finance, Medical Records and other revenue producing areas or departments * Provides training and mentorship to specific revenue producing departments * Other duties as required Requirements: * Education: Associates Degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.
